TOMORROW IS ALREADY TO LATE FOR EVERYTHING!

Within central activities in Nis – in European corner, from 02 to 05 of December 2010, it was held in Serbia planetary campaign STOP TO CLIMATE CHANGES.  Under the motto “Global challenge – Global response – TOMORROW IS ALREADY TO LATE!”  This multimedia program, conceived as part of word campaign has sparked interest of numerous organization of civil society, representatives of institutions and local authorities. Several hundred of participants of Campaign, despite bad weather, gathered in European corner in Nis, from where is sent message to the participants of 16th International conference OUN about climate changes in Mexican city Cancun. Members of EKOpolis Network, “Green Network” of City of Nis, Council for Environmental Protection, students and pupils, representatives of faculties and other educational institutions and public utility enterprises, highlighted importance of the nature that surrounds us, but and on the fact that our relation to the nature, directly affects the quality and safety of humanity life.

Activity  has started with conference for journalists and with opening of art exhibition, graphics and photos of professors and students “Ekoman ART Academy”, in gallery of European corner, called “Understanding of universe 2010”. About role of artists in ecological campaigns and of this setting spoke Boban Mikic, member of the Council of City Municipality of Palilula. Works exhibited: academician, Prof. Mr. Miodrag Andjelkovic, Prof. Mr. Zvonko Pavlicic, academician, Prof. Slavoljub Todorovic – Zorkin, Prof. Milic Petrovic, Prof. Aleksandar Pavicevic, docent Lidija Mina Sarovic, Gordana Mirkov, Prof. Dragan Vidojkovic, Miroljub Dinic, assistant, students of Academy: Zvonko Milojevic, Branko Radenkovic and Martina Bozinovic.

For representatives of media, that reporting on condition of environment, very interesting lecture, on theme “Assessment of environmental quality”, held Prof. Dr. Radivoje Dj. Mancic, one of the founders of ecological movement of Serbia.

People from Nis were able to meet targets and program of two ecological activities that is at the moment achieving in Region: Sustainable forms of energy – Lets meet BIO-GENERATOR (AgrovetManagement project and EKOpolis) and campaign “Be OK!” – Collection of waste batteries (Association Plant). At the annual meeting of “Green Network of City of Nis”, Sonja Popovic, president of  Council for Environmental Protection commended this activity of NGO and stressed that City of Nis will and in 2011 support all projects of the association in this area.
